The Foundation for Goaltending Research and Education was founded by a select Board of Directors which encompasses all aspects of goaltending. The board includes Brian Daccord (Arizona Coyotes Special Assistant to the General Manager and Director of Goaltending Operations) Molly Schaus (Former Olympian and currently Marketing Manager of the Anaheim Ducks). Brian Boucher (Former NHL Goaltender and current NBC Hockey Broadcaster) Lloyd Friedland (Hockey and Entertainment Agent) and Bruce Irving (Providence College Goalie Coach). The Executive Director of the FGRE is Andrew Raycroft (13 year NHL veteran, 2004 NHL Rookie of the Year and current NESN analyst). The Foundation is a 501 3(c) non profit business.

The Board of Directors provides the direction for the Foundation to accomplish its five initiatives. The Foundation conducts research on current hot topics in goaltending, provides educational programs through symposiums and mobile workshops, supports goalies with limited resources through scholarships, advocates for the goaltending community and takes a leadership role in the advancement of the position, how it is played and perceived.

The Foundation is funded by donations, symposiums and workshops, as well as memberships. The end goal is to provide a voice for today’s goaltending community and help present and future goalies achieve the most enjoyment and satisfaction from playing the greatest position in all of sports.
